Our Journey

Nutritionistcoachsport was born from a simple observation: many athletes in South Africa lacked access to personalized, science-backed nutritional coaching tailored to their performance goals. From those initial conversations with runners, cyclists, and rugby players in Cape Town, our mission crystallized into something bigger than we imagined.

We recognized that carbohydrate management is often misunderstood or oversimplified. Rather than pushing generic diets, we decided to build a resource hub dedicated to helping athletes understand how to fuel their bodies strategically. Every article, every guide, and every recommendation we publish is rooted in current sports nutrition science and real athlete experiences.

James Okonkwo

Sports Scientist & Carb Strategy Specialist

James is a registered exercise physiologist who specializes in carbohydrate timing and metabolic optimization for competitive athletes. His research on fueling strategies for rugby and cricket players has shaped much of our content.
